How I love collage!  Since I was young I've been putting pieces together to make beautiful things. It began with quilts, inspired by my female relatives who sat on Aunt Ora's back porch on summer afternoons stitching and gossiping over the latest quilt. Early in my art career, I stitched pieces of fabric together to form backgrounds for embroidery stitches. That gradually led back to an interest in quilts and I joined the art quilt movement, collaging pieces of fabric to form a design. All this time I was sewing clothing, putting pieces of cut fabric together to form a 3-D garment.  From there I began adding collage to the pages of my art journal as I developed my style. I continue to experiment, loving every minute of the process.
